Beaches and Scenic Spots

Haystack Rock
The 235 ft-tall internationally famous sea stack that has become the face of Cannon Beach — great for viewing tide pools and seasonal birds.

Arcadia Beach
A popular rest area between Cannon Beach and Tillamook, or a good place to relax for the day and enjoy the surf and sand.

Ecola State Park
Stretching along 9 miles of the coast, this park offers outdoor recreation and sightseeing with hiking trails and wildlife observation.

Hug Point
A hidden gem on the coast, this sandy cove south of Cannon Beach features tide pools and sandstone caves, as well as a seasonal waterfall.

Indian Beach
A secluded beach located within Ecola State Park, this location is one of the best surfing spots along the Oregon coast.

Oswald West State Park
Spanning 4 miles of temperate coastal rainforest, this park features miles of hiking trails and the popular Short Sand Beach.

Tide Pools
Check tide charts for low tide! Haystack Rock offers easily accessible viewing, but many of the beaches along the coast feature their own tide pools as well.

Food and Dining
Restaurants in town have a wide range for all times of the day. Coffee shops and pizza, seafood, pub-style, or fine dining—you can find it all!

Hiking/Walking Trails
The surrounding area features miles and miles of trails to explore! Check out the nearby State Parks, whether you are looking for a quick stroll or a longer hike.

Art Galleries
Cannon Beach is home to over a dozen Art Galleries from local artists in every medium from sculpting to painting to photography.

Whale Watching
Gray Whales are commonly spotted just off the coast of Cannon Beach. Peak season is during migration periods from mid-March to mid-April and mid-December to mid-January.

Local Shops
Downtown Cannon Beach is a shopping hot spot featuring everything from candles to clothing to candy. Souvenirs, decor, games, books, and more!
